DRI prefers to use 3D solid modeling CAD solutions. When using solid modeling software, you see your product evolve three dimensionally on the computer screen. It allows you to rotate the view and examine your design in great detail. Tolerance and interference checks are easily accomplished which is a major improvement over 2D tools. This reduces the time for prototype and integration as well as checking kinematics stress analysis, conceptual rendering, center of gravity, CNC tool paths and more.

Design Right’s solid engineering background in 3D CAD, material selection, finishes, tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, design for manufacture, RF shielding, shock and vibration, connector selection and layout, heat flow and component cooling requirements will ensure your design is right the first time. Our many experiences in equipment assembly and excellent relationships with manufacturing partners give us an edge in designing solutions that can be built in record time and without the need for special tooling.

Thermal Analysis

At DRI, we analyse the thermal requirements of a system before the design goes to CAD. Then we select the best thermal solution and verify by theory and/or thermal modeling. The design team at Design Right has been working on Electro-mechanical systems that have thermal requirements for many years. We have experience with a large variety of thermal devices such as heat sinks, thermal plates, temperature chambers, internal heating elements, temperature controllers, cryogenic valves, thermal bars/fingers, thermal compliant material, thermo-electrtic devices, fan selection and air flow diverters. In addition, we understand the issues of correct material selection for thermal expansion concerns and insulation. We have designed systems that control the test chamber well below the dew point while maintaining a moisture and frost-free environment.

RF Packaging

Design Right has extensive experience in RF packaging. We understand correct selection of connectors and cable for high frequency use to ensure low signal transmission loss and phase change. Our experience with semi-rigid cables, flex cables, wave-guide, couplers, attenuators, circulators, RF switches, RF shielding, and absorber materials will ensure your requirements are met or exceeded. In addition, we will ensure proper grounding and apply antistatic techniques in the design and selection of materials.
